What cubic zirconia is
Cubic zirconia is a lab-made crystal cut and polished like a diamond. It is clear, bright and inexpensive, which is exactly why it belongs on a $38 ring. It is not a diamond and it is not moissanite — it is softer than both, so it will pick up fine surface scratches over years of daily wear, and it has a flatter, whiter sparkle than moissanite's rainbow flash. Why stainless steel
Most rings at this price are alloy or brass with a thin plating. They tarnish, and the copper underneath leaves a green mark on the finger within weeks — we wrote about why here. This ring is 316L stainless steel: it does not contain copper, it does not rust, and it holds its shape. The silver tone is a surface finish over the steel; it is not solid gold or silver, and we won't describe it as such.

How to measure: wrap a strip of paper or a piece of string around the base of the finger, mark where it meets, then lay it flat against a ruler. That length in millimetres is your circumference — match it to the table. Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are at their largest, and measure the finger you actually intend to wear it on.
How to wear it
Alone on the ring finger is the obvious answer. It also works as the plain anchor in a stack — put it under a thinner textured band and let the stone sit on top.
Care
- Remove before showering, swimming, and hot tubs.
- Take it off for washing up, gym equipment and anything abrasive — a ring wears at the palm side first.
- Put jewellery on after perfume, lotion, and hand cream.
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing and store it separately.
